Paris is my hometown. Often you don’t appreciate the place where you live, but I am fortunate in that I am able to see the city through other people’s eyes every day. That is the big advantage of working in tourism, that and because I have been doing it a long time I have got to find out about some great places.
The first place visitors who have taken flights to Paris see when they land is Charles De Gaulle airport. In the rush of travel it is easy to overlook airports but this one has a fascinating history. Among airport enthusiasts Paris Charles De Gaulle airport is famed the world over. Take a little time and find out why yourself.
The Paris Metro is also world famous, and just so happens to be the very best way to get into the city from the airport. This underground train network is cheap, fast, and runs frequently. It is perfectly safe for tourists and visitors to use.
Once you are in town you will need to find a place to stay. I can highly recommend one place. Located in the very heart of Paris the Hotel Montalembert is a wonderful place to stay. The service you will receive there is so good that you will be surprised that it is not twice the price. You can take a look at their website here.
Now you are booked into you hotel it is time to go out. If you are to see one thing in Paris that thing should be the Louvre. Truly no trip to Paris is complete without a visit to the famous museum. Even if you have en before, it always rewards another visit.
After all that culture you are probably feeling hungry. The a great place to eat is the Bistroy Les Papilles. You can take a look here. This is a great little place with great food. Located on the fashionable rue Gay Lussac, this place is a true gem.
OK, so that’s how easy it is to start to have a great visit to Paris, even if it is just for a weekend. With the choice of flights to France, or the convenience of arriving from European locations by train, Paris is waiting for you!
