America, land of the Free

The United States of America is the greatest country in the world. A lot of people outside the States don’t fully appreciate this fact. America has the best of everything. Whatever it is you like, they do it better in America. If something exists, then there it will be, bigger, better, faster, louder. \r\n\r\nIn Europe of late there has been a lot of ill-informed anti-American sentiment in Europe in recent years. It is easy to fall into lazy and ignorant stereotypes. These just aren’t fair. The best and quickest way to realize how wrong you have been is to visit the country for yourself.\r\n\r\nThere are countless fantastic destinations in the USA, from the natural splendour of the Grand Canyon to the casinos of Las Vegas. It is a big country, so when you think USA, think car hire USA. A country built around the motor car is best visited with a motor car.

Driving in the USA is not like driving in other countries. Instead of winding, narrow, death-trap roads built for carts and horses, the Americans have wide, straight, perfect highways stretching into the horizon. Even the small rural back-roads are constructed with the ideal camber and gentle bends. The closest most foreigners will have come to this driving perfection is if they have ever taken a track day.

From the big cities to the wide open spaces the USA truly does have it all. A road trip in the USA is a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget. It is best not to try to buy a cheap used vehicle for this however. Aside from emissions regulations in some states, there are virtually no road-worthiness restrictions placed on vehicles in the USA. If you buy a cheap used car, you will almost certainly end up broken down by the side of the road, quite easily 50 miles from the nearest living soul. A clean modern and reasonably priced hire car is clearly the way to go. \r\n
